Cape of Good Hope Serruria Chardonnay 2022 The Altima vineyard is situated in Elandskloof, an isolated valley with a very cool climate in Overberg. The unique terroir produces wines with a high natural acidity and upfront aromas. Grapes are handpicked late February/early March, fermentation and wood maturation partly on a mix of new and used 300l French oak. 30% of the wine is unoaked. The wine spent 7 months on the lees. Shy orange blossom bouquet, fresh and lively in the mouth with orange and citrus flavour cloaked with creamy vanilla. Complex, long and yet light and bright! Food pairing: Superb with fish cooked in butter (e.g. sole meunière), roast chicken, poached salmon, seared scallops, mushroom risotto and caesar salad.
