INS Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet x30

$60.74 $76.53
INS Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet contains Letrozole, a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor that reduces estrogen production in the body. While originally developed for breast cancer treatment, it has become an effective first-line medication for treating infertility in women with ovulatory disorders. Uses INS Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet is used for treating hormone-dependent breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It is also increasingly prescribed as a fertility treatment for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), unexplained infertility, and anovulation. The medication stimulates ovulation and increases the chances of successful conception. Benefits Effectively induces ovulation in anovulatory women Higher live birth rates compared to some traditional fertility medications Lower risk of multiple pregnancies than other fertility treatments Fewer side effects than clomiphene citrate Short half-life reduces exposure to developing follicles May improve pregnancy outcomes in PCOS patients Cost-effective fertility treatment option Can be effective in clomiphene-resistant patients How It Works INS Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet works by temporarily inhibiting the enzyme aromatase, which is responsible for converting androgens to estrogens. This temporary reduction in estrogen levels triggers the pituitary gland to increase follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) production, stimulating ovarian follicle development and ovulation in women with fertility issues. Duration of Action The medication has a half-life of approximately 48 hours. When used for fertility treatment, it is typically administered for 5 days early in the menstrual cycle, with ovulation usually occurring 5-10 days after the last dose. Dosage Condition Recommended Dosage Duration Infertility treatment 2.5-5mg Days 3-7 of cycle Advanced breast cancer 2.5mg Continuous daily Adjuvant breast cancer 2.5mg 5 years daily Warnings Do not use INS Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet if you are pregnant as it may harm the developing fetus. The medication is contraindicated in premenopausal women except when specifically used for fertility treatment. Patients with severe liver impairment should use with caution under close medical supervision. Side Effects Common side effects include hot flashes, night sweats, fatigue, headache, joint pain, muscle pain, bone pain, and mild nausea. Less common effects include mood changes, dizziness, insomnia, peripheral edema, and skin rash. Most side effects are mild to moderate when used short-term for fertility treatment. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding INS Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet is absolutely contraindicated during pregnancy. When used for fertility treatment, it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy occurs. Women should wait at least 3 days after the last dose before attempting conception to ensure the medication has cleared from the body. Interactions Tamoxifen (reduced letrozole efficacy) Strong CYP2A6 inhibitors (increased letrozole levels) Strong CYP3A4 inducers (decreased letrozole efficacy) Estrogen-containing medications (reduced therapeutic effect) Hormone replacement therapy (antagonistic effects) Warfarin (potential increased anticoagulant effect) Precautions Take INS Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet exactly as prescribed by your fertility specialist. Follicular development and ovulation should be monitored using ultrasound and hormone tests during treatment cycles. Regular bone density monitoring may be recommended for long-term use. Discuss all medications and supplements with your doctor before starting treatment. Important Information INS Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet is often used “off-label” for fertility treatment, meaning this use is not included in the manufacturer’s original FDA approval. Despite this, extensive research supports its efficacy and safety for fertility treatment when properly prescribed and monitored by a reproductive specialist. However, to enhance fertility, some doctors may recommend additional supplements or medications, depending on your specific condition. These can include: Folic acid – supports egg health and reduces birth defects. Vitamin D – helps regulate hormones. Clomid (Clomiphene) – sometimes combined with Letrozole in special cases. Metformin – for women with PCOS or insulin resistance. Lifestyle adjustments – healthy weight, reduced stress, and regular exercise. Important: You should not add anything to Letrozole without a fertility specialist or doctor’s recommendation, as incorrect combinations can affect your cycle or reduce your chances of conception.
