Mayhaw grows best in moist, well-drained acidic soils along riverbanks, ponds, swamps. Needs part to full sun. The red fruit is used for jellies, preserves and wine. It is also used to attract and feed deer and other wildlife. It can be grown as a large shrub or a tree, depending on how it is pruned. This variety flowers later and is a reliable producer of large berries.
