KSU Benson is a heavy pawpaw fruit producer. It is very disease resistant. The mango-like fruit have a custard consistency and delicious flavor and aroma. The Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is a fruit-bearing, understory, bush-like tree native to North America and grows from northern Florida to southern Canada and as far as the Midwest. Older plants can tolerate sun. Put young plants in mostly shade. Water regularly or plant near a natural water source. Avoid letting the soil dry completely. Soil should be well-draining.
